The last one was taken several months after the first two when I finally opened the product and I can definitely see some improvement in the quality of my pictures. Anyways.. I got this Holika Holika I Want Chu lip balm duo in a Memebox (when they still shipped to Canada..) but only opened it recently. The first thought in my head when I saw them was GIMMICK. These are ridiculously gimmicky. Basically, you and your "partner" are supposed to wear one of each flavour and when you kiss it mixes the flavour to create a smoothie :P
Since I don't have anyone to try these with (unsurprisingly), I tested these individually and mixed them together on myself. The flavours I have are Strawberry (tube with lips) and Yogurt (tube with mustaches) which is supposed to make a "Strawberry Smoothie Flavour". Also, what's the deal with mustaches in Asian Beauty"" The Face Shop's brow pencil also has a mustache on it.
They taste and smell really.. odd; quite artificial and pretty strong. The yogurt one doesn't really taste like real yogurt, though it does kind of have a creaminess to the flavour. The strawberry also doesn't really smell like a strawberry to me. It smells more like Strawberry Pocky, which I know sounds good in theory but...
They always migrate into your mouth. This wouldn't be a big deal if they were more subtle or tasted better but it's rather unpleasant. It's a weird experience since I'm not used to having lip balms do that to me.
So in short, not a fan of these lip balms because of the scent. However, they are actually pretty good at moisturizing. Not the best by any means, but they absorb better than something like eos or Maybelline Baby Lips. Also, just a heads up, the pink one is tinted. So don't be surprised if you wake up with bright pink lips if y...
